Intro

Hello, there, my name is Melissa.
First of all, sorry for my English, as I'm not a native speaker at all.
Secondly, I’m not actually an achievement hunter also, but i’m really involved in the process of beating games.

Appeal

Some time ago (a couple of years actually) I wasn’t truly “honest”. Not because of pride, but of love with two games.

Blackguards. Unfortunately, one of them had broken achievements, which i actually should have gotten, as I have achieved all the requirements for them. So i used some data changing tips (they are mentioned in one Steam Community guide) to unblock them, as I felt them actually earned. Some time ago my love with the game have faded a bit and I understood, that for people around it doesn't matter, and those achievements are nothing more than a cheating in others eyes. And it actually is, as I understand now. I have deleted all of them a couple of months ago, but now I have some troubles with those achievements.

The Stanley Parable. The second asked for the 5 years waiting, which, as it was clear to me due to this game specific, was actually a date changing one, as all the game is about breaking the 4th wall. As time has passed, I've understood, that it doesn't even matter, and still it is not fair to other people, who have actually waited those years. A have deleted this achi too, and some troubles appeared again. Too.

To be honest, there were actually two 2 more games: one of pride and one of interest.

Card Hunter It was the only actual dirty cheating, as it was one of my first games. And it is pretty awful, boring and donations dependent. So I just unlocked everything with SAM. It is disgusting and unfair. I really regret it a lot. And some time ago (a couple of years) my conscience won, and I deleted every one achievement, even those, which I have actually earned. And now there are only those I have actually earned after cleaning. There are no any troubles with them.

Divinity: Original Sin – Enhanced Edition. I have downloaded save with completed Madora's quest just in interest to read the dialog. I have even disconnected from the Internet to be sure not to get the achievement. But it has appeared anyway (I don't know how, as I have deleted this save right after reading the dialog). And now I also have troubles with deleting it.

So, I feel really sorry for B, tSP and CD. It was totally unfair to other community members and also a breach of Steam contract. I would like never to do this, but things are done, and now I can only ask community to forgive me. Forgive me, please.

The last

If I can be forgiven, there is also one thing to be done. As I have mentioned in the appeal, I have troubles with deleting achievements in B, tSP and D:OS-EE. Nearly a month ago those achievements have... come back! It have started with tSP, as 5 years achi has reappeared even without installed game! I checked B and started the game... And earned all the achi too! While I HAVE played B after deleting achievements, and they haven't reappeared before. The last was D:OS-EE. I've tried to delete it right today, and nothing have happened. I've tried to delete Cloud savings in B, but they don't even matter: game gives me achi on the start, without starting the save and without any save files on the computer or in the Cloud at all!

So I do ask not only for your forgiveness, but also for your help, cause while I'd like to join achi hunters community, I have great problems with achievements, which I have deleted even before thinking about 100pals...

Hi xaegery, thanks for creating an appeal about this. As you are not a native english speaker, please let me know if you do not understand anything i say, and i will do my best to explain in better words for you.
-Blackguards: When relocking the achievements, did you also reset the statistics for the game in either SAM/SAR? You may also need to delete the save for the game.
-The Stanley Parable: I believe resetting the game's statistics in SAM/SAR is also necessary to keep this achievement from relocking. Try doing that as well. | On looking at your game, it appears that the achievement is not unlocked. Were you able to fix that already?

-Divinity: Original sin : Which achievement(s) exactly did you unlock with this method?

I also wanted to ask about one other game.
-Black Guards 2: It looks like there is a small cluster of achievements unlocked at the same time in the beginning. Do you remember what may have happened?

Fabio, thank you, I understand you pretty well
1) Of course. Even more: I have disconnected from the internet and made steam cloud issue to appear, so the saves where deleted from the cloud. It doesn't matter to Steam, as it seams.
2) The same thing. Btw, check again. I haven't even started this game, it isn't installed, but achievement has reappeared.
3) Sister of Mercy. And has the same issue.
4) Blackguards 2. The game is pretty broken in the course of achievements. I think, it was just a glitch, cause those achievements are related to the plot events, which can't be missed.

I've tried to relock Blackguards again. With resetting stats too. But achievements have reappeared, like before.

Sorry about the delay, i have not been home until now. I haven't seen this issue with blackguards achievements not staying relocked in the past. Do you know how to find registry files for games? I am wondering if that has something to do with it. Let me talk to the other staff about your situation and see if we can find a solution for you.

I've tried to delete em, but does it matter, if all of my games achievement do act the same way?

Did you edit files for any of your games? With blackguards, going to C:\Users\*Username*\AppData\Local\Daedalic Entertainment GmbH\Blackguards\randomnumber , delete whatever is in a file called achievement local (or similar). Make sure it is deleted when restarting the game after relocking the achievements that were cheated.

Currently waiting for a reply from xaegery. User has been away for awhile but we have been messaging back and forth over discord some. Was scared about the trying to fix the achievement properly, as our solutions have not been working. Also seems to have a new issue regarding a possible local or cloud save, more info when xaegery replies. Blackguards pretty much wont relock.

Can Blackguards be left invalidated permanently? What other remaining games are having issues?

Would be best if Xaegery could maintain this appeal here within this forum topic. This appeal has dragged on for an extremely long time - would like to see this resolved soon or withdrawn for lack of user response in thread.

Hello. Fabio has asked me to try some way to relics achievements, but they didn’t work properly. the file part. It has happened with D: OS and SP as well as with Blackguards.
