IceWolf Appeal (Complete)

Games:
The Sandbox
There are three unobtainable achievements I relocked. I'm not much of an achievement hunter myself or better said not one who compared with others. I recently checked my stats on Steam Hunters and I found out I have three unobtainable achievements. Well, there are 5, 2 being form PC Gamer Magazine from 2012 but I really have no idea about those 2. They might be real.
In short, on my account I'm playing myself and sometimes my kid who has his own account and PC but he plays sometimes games he has not on his own account. He likes mostly building/physics and such so he played this game on my account and because these achievements didn't pop out he used SAM. Apparently he knows about SAM from his (online) friends he plays Minecraft with. At least he admitted he used it on The Sandbox. I'm just hopping he didn't mess anything else up.
By the way, some of the achievements of the game were obtained by me but I didn't play it too long (it's not my genre) and he said he unlocked the others "legally", only those three being unlocked using SAM. If this is true or not, I can't say for sure. Kids are kids.

Thank you for considering this, regardless of what you'll decide.

Hey Icewolf, thanks for creating an appeal about this. One of us will be able to review it shortly.

Before we take it any further, do you know what other games your son has played on your account? Generally, it is against the rules to have others play on your account and earn achievements, even if it was not meant for that to be the reason. If you don't know which ones, i understand since you have a lot of games completed, but it would be much preferred if he does not play on your own account. It may be worth looking into family share on steam to prevent something like this from happening to you in the future, as well.

And seeing that your primary language is not english, please let me know if i need to be more clear about anything i say so you can understand it better. Sometimes it can be difficult to cross language barriers with certain achievement terms haha.

I'd recommend listing here and fully relocking any games that another player played on your account, especially since cheating has been occurring from these other players on your account, so you can't be sure.

Sorry for not being in touch for such a long time.
I ended up relocking all the achievements for The Sandbox.
The other game I am sure he played on my PC is Universe Sandbox but at the time he was not even in school so I'm more than sure he just played it without tampering with it. He used to play on my account in the past years but since 2014 or 2015 - when I bought his own PC - he doesn't play anymore on my PC, I share my account with his own using Family Share so anything is on his account directly, not on mine.

Hmm... Strange thing.
Right after I wrote the comment above, I started The Sandbox to try to get back some of the achievements the right way. As soon as I started it, 37 achievements popped up, generated by the in-game engine probably. Should I consider those legit?

If he played universe sandbox, those achievements will need to be relocked as well. After relocking them, make sure to reopen it to see if anything automatically unlocks right away.

For the Sandbox, you'll need to relock every achievement again, and make sure you delete the statistics for the game as well. If they unlock upon opening the game again, there may be save data that needs to be deleted.

Those in Universe seems quite legit achievements, easy to obtain but rules are rules.
The thing is... both games have the same behaviour. I uninstall them, I delete the Steam game directory, the data from Documents directory and from Users/####/Local so it should not be any log or savegame anywhere. Cloud sync is disabled... As soon as I start them, they get the achievements back.
And for The Sandbox I can't find any local savegame. If there are other files that need to be deleted, please tell me because at this point I'm clueless. I'm missing something somewhere.

I meant to add this for why universe sandbox needed to be relocked, but this rule is where that comes in :https://achievementhunting.com/rules#na-13

Hmm, when relocking the achievements with SAR, are you also resetting the statistics at the same time?

As I said, I won't go against the rules, I was just saying that I let my kid play a game at the time, I wasn't hunt achievements then at all.
Anyway, I didn't reset statistics until you said but even so, it doesn't work - again, this was done along with deleting the data in users/###/local, the savegames in Documents folder and Steam folder (depending on the game). The achievements are always back as soon as I start the game.

Hi Icewolf, can you please navigate to `~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/265810/remote` and see if there is a profile.dat in that folder? <user-id> will be a unique number to you. and then ~ is whichever drive you have steam installed in.
You can delete the entire 265810 folder. The profile.dat contained may be the save file that is still unlocking achievements on start.
