Rezon Appeal

Post by RezoN™ » Wed Jul 29, 2020 3:48 pm

Hey mods, I'm kinda new to achievement hunting and all so I had some spam games bought in the past to gain higher number. But recently when I saw some good profiles with less BUT legit achievements, I regret purchasing so many spam games and would like them to be removed from my Steam account alongwith all their achievements. Thanks for helping me appeal!

We do not allow for relocking achievements for aesthetic reasons, sorry. The rule can be found here : https://achievementhunting.com/rules#na-1

I STRONGLY recommend you try to find some peace with yourself over this self-inflicted worry that certain games have "ruined" or "polluted" your profile. There are a million ways to filter views of your games and achievements and hundos using the achievement trackers. For example, I have played many spam games but I've also played many "difficult" or "valuable" games with very rare achievements - a simple sort by point value for games will show that: https://steamhunters.com/id/Xeinok/game ... ckedpoints or I could simply filter my achievements by rarity type to see that I have thousands of "legendary" level rare achievements.

If you can't mentally get past this, then it would be better for you to start a new Steam account. The rules do not permit "aesthetic" relocking, like Fabio mentioned.

Reopening this to give the user a chance to respond.

@Rezon: Unlocking AND relocking achievements are both considered cheating whether you use SAM or SAR or any other tool. That's what https://achievementhunting.com/rules#na-1 says. Please check the last example on NA-1 as well.
The ONLY time someone is allowed to use SAR is during an appeal to FIX cheating. It is not allowed simply because someone does not like a game. Locking the achievements for your spam games IS cheating.

When you suddenly go private and leave a server, it makes it seem like you plan to cheat very soon and hide it via being private.

No one seems to answer my real question. I asked multiple people, all dodge that question. How is it that a person who already cheated to gain something is forgiven and allowed to relock, whereas myself who is asking to relock coz I don't want them is considered a cheater. So actually cheating to unlock and achievement is forgivable? That particular rule doesn't make sense except it reduces your work OR else people would bother you everytime to remove achievements. That was the reason I asked to do it myself. I mean I clearly saw on past appeals where admins permitted users to relock and then inform them to make neccessary changes. But instead the person I was speaking to already assumed I am cheating. Since yesterday I am being treated like a piece of garbage, people making assumptions without knowing me. Different people tell me different stuff and different excuses are made. But nobody replied why are actual cheaters forgiven? It seems I should have done it on my own then acted for forgiveness as that is acceptable here. Check other appeals and you will see what I am talking about. You don't help someone then you assume he cheated and give away judgement. I don't care about trackers if this the way people behave. Yesterday someone already passed a verdict on me saying I was banned from leaderboards, WHY? coz I only asked him to do it myself if it was a burden on staff. No one has the right to jump to conclussions and call me a cheater if I havent done yet. So all this giving a chance and all that, it's useless if you ain't helping.

DO NOT even bother to reply now, I only came here to take screenshots of other appeals where people had actually been greedy and cheated, then were forgiven. As much as I don't treat admin as a servant, I expect them to not treat me as a cheater. I don't care of these trackers and their sites. Hell some of them have not even shown correct stats for years. All I am concerned is for my Steam profile and it hurts when people call you a cheater for asking something. If this is how admins behave to a member of 3 years, I don't want to be a part of your group. Next time an admin accuses someone they need to make sure they are not dirty themselves.

Keep giving actual cheaters another chance, I do not care.

In any reference made as YOU it doesn't imply you, Xeinok. I meant the people I spoke to and the entire staff. Admins have the power so can't go against them is what was assumed of me. Well I can go against and I don't have to so called cheat for that. Not being a part of this tracking system is enough to go against you. If I can't get rid of that spam stuff, I will improve my profile. Also if I am not getting tracked no one has the right to ask me to keep my profile public. Everyone can make the assumptions and as much as I know the mentality, this post will be laughed at which I don't care if I have even made a single person aware about my situation. Also tell your server members they shouldn't give out random replies if they themselves ain't sure about the rules. They could've guided me to an admin before I appealed. All this drama would not have happened.

No one is saying you cheated. No one is calling you a cheater. You did nothing wrong. No one banned you from anything. You are still not banned from anything and very welcome to be a member on the discord.

People are just informing you that what you asked to do is "not allowed" by the rules currently. Many people are involved in creating and editing the rules - it's not just us mods. There are many reasons why the community chose to not allow unlocker/relocker tools - the community in general doesn't want a situation where people are modifying their achievements with tools back and forth; it can create lots of situations that might appear like cheating, or cause confusion, or permanently break games, or it can be used to hide actual cheating, etc.

Nobody here is calling you a cheater. Nobody is disrespecting you or insulting you.

I don't consider this post as an "appeal" even - you are basically just asking a question about the rules. And you heard the answer about https://achievementhunting.com/rules#na-1. So that's all - there should be no hurt feelings here.
