Hi, i'm new to achievement hunting !

Long time ago I've played "Dead Island Riptide" off steam, pirated version to check if the game is good and later bought it on steam. However i played on the same save so obtained achievements "jumped" in the same time on steam. I just went on and deleted all of my achievements on Dead Island

I searched all my games and i didnt saw another game like this so if u find any suspicious one just let me know, and i will delete achievements on it

Also i don't know if its also against the rules but to obtain certain achievements on CS:GO i used worksop maps (eg. deleted Italy, Aztec maps) because it was the only way to obtain it.

Hey superhero12, thank you for creating an appeal about this can you please reopen the game once and make sure that no achievements accidentally unlock on startup? Once this is done the appeal can be completed . Workshop maps are allowed

I don't know if i done something not right but after every reopen of the game the achievements just pop right back, i tried deleting all with SAR, locking them in non-completed state, deleted save and disabled cloud save but no matter what i do the achievements just unlock on every reopening of the game.

Could you point something out, that i'm doing wrong?

Did you delete the statistics for the game in SAR as well? That could be something that causes this issue if it is not done.

I clicked the full reset, so it should reset all game achievements and statistics, also statistics don't show up on the statistic tab so i'm not sure that it is deleted properly.

Okay, so after talking with the other staff members, we have some options left to try for this case. First please type "regedit" in your windows search bar to open the registry editor and then navigate to: "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Techland" and/or "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Deep Silver" and try to find any files / save data related to Dead Island Riptide and delete that there. If it is not there or it did not work then please delete any save files for that game you can find in your documents folder, then in your steam userdata / id folder, and then directly in the installation folder. I hope that there is still save data in any of these locations that cause the achievements to pop on startup and that these step help you to fix your problem. Otherwise, if those steps did not work, we might have to permanently invalidate that game for now since the achievements cannot be relocked properly.

Edit: you can also check yourself on this website here: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Dead_Island:_Riptide to check for any other possible save file locations. Especially the note "Dead Island: Riptide saves in the same folder where Dead Island saves, but uses different extensions for its files (*.prr, *.sar) " might be useful. So if you don't find any data in the abovementioned locations you can search these locations for Dead Island save data and look for those extensions.

OH Yeah!
Somehow it worked!
Steps that i taked: In the registry there is no keys for Riptide as far i was searching, i deleted whole game settings folder from Documents, next deleted whole settings folder of Dead Island Riptide Definitive Edition (i'ts not the same game on steam but who knows?), then i reinstalled the game itself, and when i opened it up the achievements were locked

I went on and completed first achievement just to be sure, and it seems ok.

Now I'm just awaiting validation

Nice! I am glad it worked since all of the achievements were relocked successfully, I will go ahead and revalidate your profile and the game now
