Hello everyone,

it was brought to my attention today by a member of your team that my account is suspected of not meeting your guidelines, so I'm here to clear things up:

First of all, I don't know if everyone is aware, but some achievements in Blackguards don't unlock even though you meet the conditions for them. From my point of view, it is up to the developers, if they already offer unlockable Steam achievements, to also either fix or remove them if there are bugs. Neither was done in this case and that is sad for a studio that is still actively marketing games. It shows that they don't give a damn about the community and their products.

I don't remember exactly whether I researched beforehand that there were problems with the achievements or whether I only noticed it in the game itself. The fact is, I then came across a forum post on Steam that pointed to a file in the game folders. In this file, you could unlock the achievements by changing the text in the corresponding columns. You could also always track there when achievements were unlocked in the game itself and the text changed there.

I did nothing but unlock the respective bugged achievement for myself at the moments when I fulfilled the conditions in the game. I didn't use any third-party programmes, but rather the game's own resources (at that time I didn't even know about such things), I didn't simply unlock them without the necessary conditions (the achievements were all neither difficult to achieve nor very time-consuming, which you can also see from my time stamps). I only did what the developers didn't manage to do.

Once you have done this, please reopen each game to make sure nothing automatically unlocks on startup.

Hey, you don't have to apologise for that. It's holiday time, warm weather and there are more important things than this.

As a self-confessed completeness fanatic, I'm currently in a bit of a quandary. I also don't expect any understanding from outsiders who don't know such weird compulsions to have a gap like in a collection somewhere.

What exactly does the appeal do for me? Merely to be activated for the leaderboard? It wouldn't be that important to me to appear in any ranking lists, only to have to compare myself with others, but to always be told by platforms like Steam that I still have achievements open in games I've played.

That's why I don't see myself as a reprehensible cheater, and I didn't expect the fair unlocking of achievements via in-game files in abandoned games to be a big problem. Believe me, otherwise I wouldn't have volunteered on Discord and made you work with this.

In Blackguards 1, I wouldn't even know if I had used this method at all and which achievements were affected. Steamhunters does not show me any unobtainable achievements, as it does in Blackguards 2.

Essentially, the appeal just helps clean an account of any cheating and helps list someone back onto the leaderboards.

I think then I can live with not appearing in the leaderboards rather than having a gap in my achievements. I cannot understand this rule in such cases, but of course I respect it. I don't consider myself a lowlife or fraudulent cheater now.
